8th Grade
The Dowell Lionettes Eighth Grade volleyball teams fought hard against the Rockwall Williams Wildcats.
The Blue “B” team won their set in two games, 26-24 and 25-18. Hope Scheelar had a great defensive night along with 3 kills. Abigail Puhala served us back 6 points to win the first game.
The Gold “A” team fought hard and but lost in two, 18-25 and 21-25. Kinley Schnell and Lauren Hume served aggressively from the line. Makenna Kelty, Kinley Schnell and Alyssa Spangle combined for 12 kills.
The White “C” team finished with a loss in three, 25-19, 23-25 and 17-25. Amaya Cudgo and Anna Schaar earned lots of points from the serving line. Skyler Struck and Lindsey Lange both contributed with a number of kills.
Next set is against the Evans Panthers at Boyd High school on October 2nd starting with the Blue game at 5:00pm. One Heart, One Team, LIONETTES!

7th Grade
The Dowell Lionettes seventh grade volleyball teams played against Rockwall Williams Middle School on September 25.
The Blue “B” team lost their set in two games, 19-25 and 26-28. Maddie Black had 2 serving aces, 1 kill and 1 assist to an awesome kill. Anissa Lechner had 1 serving ace, 2 kills and a great assist to a hitter. Brooke Mayer contributed 11 points throughout the night. Great job to these ladies!
The Gold “A” team fought hard in 2 games but unfortunately did not pull out a win, losing 16-25 and 23-25. Madison Wallace contributed 7 points, great passes and an awesome save. Morgan Appleby had 6 points, including an ace. Olivia Tarsi had 8 hits, including 2 amazing kills. Great job to the entire team for working hard and fighting until the end!
Closing out the evening, the White “C” team pulled out an awesome win in three games with scores of 8-25, 25-23 and 25-23. Morgan Bryan had 17 points, and 11 of those were aces! Incredible! Kylie Higgins had 2 fantastic saves, 2 great assists to hitters and overall great passes during the night. Katie Altizer closed out the evening with 6 points and scored the game winning point! Great job to everyone for a wonderful win!
